AI training your team will actually use
Quick answer: I run hands-on AI training for small business teams in Raleigh, Durham, Cary and across the Triangle, in person at your office and built on your own emails and documents, using ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or Google Gemini, whatever you already have.
I run hands-on AI training for small business teams across the Triangle, built on your own documents, emails and spreadsheets.
Most teams don't need a course. They need someone to sit with them, take the work they already do every week, and show them where AI saves time, where it doesn't, and how to check what it gives back.
What a session covers
- Your real tasks. Before the session, I collect 5–10 examples of the work your team repeats: emails, reports, notes, quotes. We use those, not made-up ones.
- The tools you already pay for. Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Google Gemini: whatever you have. Often the biggest win is using what's already in your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
- What not to use it for. Where AI gets things wrong, what never goes into a free chatbot, and how to keep customer data private.
- How to check its work. A simple habit your team can follow, so a first draft never goes out unchecked.
- A one-page cheat sheet for each person, with the prompts that worked on your examples.
AI training for small businesses in Durham, Raleigh and Cary
Durham has good public options: community-college classes, library and credit-union workshops, cohort programs. They're a great start for owners learning on their own. What I add is a private session for your team at your office, built on your own work, so the training turns into hours saved the next Monday.
Made-up example: a 10-person Durham property management office
The office spent hours a week on maintenance emails and owner updates. In a half day, the team learned to turn a messy tenant email into a work-order line and a drafted reply, and to check every draft before sending. (Fictional office, made-up details.)
Who it's for
Owner-run businesses with 5 to 50 people: office teams, front desks, admin staff, project coordinators, bookkeepers. No technical background needed. If someone can write an email, they can do this.
Format and price
- Half day (about 3 hours), up to 12 people
- Full day, with hands-on build time
- Where: at your office anywhere in Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Apex, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest or Morrisville
Not sure where to start? A Kickstart is half a day where I find your best first win, and its cost comes off the training if you book within 60 days. Every session is quoted at a fixed price up front.
Common questions
Is this ChatGPT training or Copilot training? Either, or both. I train on the tool your team already has. If you pay for Microsoft 365 business plans, I'll show you what Copilot features you have and how to use them.
Is it safe to put our business data into AI? It depends on the account. I'll show you which settings keep your data out of AI training, and which kinds of information should never go into a free chatbot.
Do we need to buy anything? No. If a paid tool would help, I'll tell you why and what it costs, and you decide.
Can you train just one person? Yes. One-on-one sessions work the same way, built on that person's own work.
Which AI do you use? I prefer Claude at the moment. The field changes every few weeks, though, and a team that's comfortable in one tool gets more done than one that switches every time something new launches. So I set you up on whatever fits the software you already use, whether that's Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or Google Gemini.
Is there AI training for small business owners in Durham? Yes. I run private, hands-on AI training at your Durham office, and Durham also has public classes through community-college and nonprofit programs.
Do you train owners one-on-one? Yes. One-on-one sessions work the same way, built on your own tasks.
