Small AI tools for the work that eats your week
Quick answer: I build small, fixed-price AI tools for one job each (inbox to spreadsheet, first-draft replies, document summaries, self-filling reports) on the software Triangle small businesses already use. You own them.
Every small business has a few jobs that get done the same way, over and over: retyping emails into a spreadsheet, rewriting the same reply, building the same report every Friday. I build small, focused tools that take those jobs off your team's plate, on the software you already use.
One tool, for one job, that your team actually uses.
What these tools look like
(Made-up examples of the kind of thing I build.)
- Inbox to spreadsheet. New inquiries, orders or requests arrive by email. The tool pulls out the details and adds a row to your sheet. Someone checks it in seconds instead of typing it in minutes.
- First-draft replies. The questions your team answers 30 times a week get on-policy draft replies, written the way you'd write them. A person checks and sends.
- Document summaries. Long contracts, reports or applications turn into a one-page summary in your format, with the key dates and numbers pulled out.
- Reports that fill themselves in. The weekly or monthly report your team rebuilds by hand gets its numbers and notes pulled together automatically.
- Quote and proposal drafts. Your past examples become a template that drafts new ones from an inquiry email.
How I build them
1. Watch first. I see how the job gets done today, with the person who does it.
2. Fixed price, agreed up front. You know the cost before I start. Most tools take 1–3 weeks.
3. Built on what you have. Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, your existing software and AI accounts. If a new subscription would genuinely help, I'll say why and what it costs, and you decide.
4. Tested on your real work. Done means someone on your team has used it.
5. You own it. It lives in your accounts, with a one-page how-to.
What it costs
Every tool gets a fixed price, agreed before I start, usually after a Kickstart. It depends on how many steps and systems the tool touches. How consulting is usually priced →
Good to know
I keep health records and card numbers out of scope, and a person checks anything that goes to your customers. If a simple spreadsheet formula would do the job, I'll tell you.
Common questions
What is AI automation for a small business? Using AI to handle a repeated task, like pulling details out of emails into a spreadsheet or drafting the same reply, so a person only checks the result.
Do I have to buy new software for AI automation? Usually not. I build on Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and the tools you already pay for.
Who owns the tool you build? You do. It lives in your accounts, with a one-page how-to.
